The small number of things the BLACKBOOK websites remember in your browser, why, and how to change your choice.
1. What this covers
This notice explains the cookies and similar technologies used on the BLACKBOOK websites. It sits alongside our privacy policy.
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage, work in the same way. We use local storage rather than cookies for the few things we need to remember.
2. What we use
| Name | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|
| bb-consent | Remembers whether you chose “Essential only” or “Allow”, so we do not ask again. | Until you clear it |
| bb-lang | Remembers the language you chose on the website, English or Arabic. | Until you clear it |
Both are essential to how the websites work and are stored only in your browser. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies today.
3. If we add measurement
If we later measure how the websites are used, it will run only if you have chosen “Allow”, and we will list what we use on this page before it starts. Choosing “Essential only” keeps it off.
4. Other services on the websites
Some content on the websites comes from other services, which may receive your IP address and browser details when your browser loads it: fonts served by Google, photographs served by Unsplash, and demo apps and videos served from our hosting provider. When you book a demo you go to a Google Calendar page, which uses Google’s own cookies under Google’s policies.
5. Your choices
You can change your choice at any time by clearing this website’s data in your browser, which brings the choice back the next time you visit. You can also block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser’s settings; the websites will still work, but may ask for your choice again.
